What Are Cookies
As is common practice with almost all professional websites, the Platform uses cookies, which are tiny files that are downloaded to your computer or device to improve your experience. This page describes what information they gather, how we use them, and why we sometimes need to store them. References to cookies in this Policy also include similar storage or access technologies where applicable. It also explains how you can control the cookies we use.
For more general information on cookies, see the Wikipedia article on HTTP Cookies.
Your Cookie Choices
When you first visit the Platform, our cookie consent banner lets you choose which categories of non-essential cookies to allow. You can accept or decline these categories, and you can change your choices at any time by reopening the banner or your cookie settings. Strictly necessary cookies are required to operate the Platform and are always active, so they are not subject to consent.
We will not set non-essential cookies, such as analytics cookies, unless and until you allow them. Where your browser sends an opt-out preference signal, such as the Global Privacy Control (GPC), we treat it as a choice to decline non-essential cookies. You can also prevent or remove cookies by adjusting the settings in your browser (see your browser Help for how to do this), though disabling strictly necessary cookies may affect how the Platform functions.
The Cookies We Set
Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are required for the Platform to work and cannot be switched off in our systems. They include login-related cookies, which remember that you are logged in so that you do not have to log in on every page and which are typically removed or cleared when you log out, and download- and access-related cookies, which facilitate downloading and determine what you can access in some situations and which are typically cleared when you close your browser.
Functional cookies
These cookies allow the Platform to remember choices you make, such as your preferences for how the Platform runs when you use it, so that we can provide a better experience. Where a functional cookie is not strictly necessary to provide a feature or preference you specifically request, we set it only after you allow functional cookies through our cookie choices. The duration of functional cookies varies depending on the feature; some are session cookies and others remain until they expire, you clear them, or the relevant preference is reset.
Analytics cookies
Where you allow them, these cookies help us understand how the Platform is used so that we can improve it, for example by measuring which pages are visited and how long visitors spend on them. We set these cookies only after you consent to analytics cookies, and you may withdraw that consent at any time through our cookie settings. Their duration varies according to the analytics technology and configuration in use, and further information is available from the applicable provider described below.
Third Party Cookies
In some cases we also use cookies provided by trusted third parties. The following section details which third-party cookies you might encounter through the Platform.
Google Analytics
Where you allow analytics cookies, the Platform uses Google Analytics, one of the most widespread and trusted analytics solutions on the web, to help us understand how you use the Platform and ways that we can improve your experience. These cookies may track things such as how long you spend on the Platform and the pages that you visit so that we can continue to produce engaging content.
For more information on Google Analytics cookies, see the official Google cookies page.
Olark
The Platform may use Olark to chat with you, typically to provide real-time assistance with using a Branded Workspace. Olark may set cookies or use similar technologies to facilitate chat functionality. Where those technologies are not strictly necessary to provide a chat feature you request, they are treated as functional cookies and are used only after the applicable consent. A description of Olark's cookies is available here.
