AI Dataset Licensing
SourceAudio connects music rightsholders with AI and technology companies through an opt-in licensing program.
Technology companies license both sides – sound recording and composition – for approved uses. Catalogs can opt-in to every deal or select deals they wish to participate in.
I HAVE MUSIC
For labels, publishers, and catalogs
Your catalog may already include the music and data AI companies are looking for.
Opt in to make your content eligible for future dataset licensing opportunities. You retain ownership of your music and choose the deals you want to participate in.
Currently supported use cases include:
- Stem separation and tagging
- Music classification and search
- DAW integrations for stem generation
- AI remix tools
- Full song generation
When an opportunity fits your catalog, SourceAudio manages the licensing process, content delivery, and payment administration under the terms of the deal.

AI Dataset Licensing FAQ
Is the music cleared for AI training?
SourceAudio licenses rights-cleared music datasets to AI and technology companies through an opt-in program. Rightsholders opt in deal by deal and retain ownership of their music.
Are both the recording and the composition covered?
Yes. A song carries two copyrights: the recording and the underlying composition. Both must be cleared for AI training. Content licensed through SourceAudio is cleared on both sides.
What content is available?
Full mixes and alternate versions, original stems where available, instrumental and vocal recordings, sound effects, lyrics, metadata, and MIDI.
How do rightsholders get paid?
Rightsholders are paid up front or across the term of the agreement, depending on the deal structure.
Does participation affect ownership of my catalog?
No. You retain ownership of your music, and participation is optional for each opportunity.
