Introducing Our New Client Spotlight Series

Updated September 11, 2025

We’re excited to bring back our Client Spotlight series, where we highlight the incredible work our partners are doing across sync licensing, production, and music supervision. Each month, we’ll feature one of our clients and share how they’re using SourceAudio to power their business.

For our first edition, we’re shining a light on Dom Toulon, CEO of CAPP Records, a San Francisco Bay Area–based record label and sync licensing company with over 25 years of history in music and placements across some of the biggest films, trailers, and ads.

1. Can you tell us about your role and what your team focuses on?
I’m the CEO of CAPP Records Inc., which I run alongside my co-founder and CFO, Marc Oshry. Together, we manage three SourceAudio platforms and provide one-stop music licensing and in-house production services for film, television, video games, and advertising.

Our catalog spans more than 100 years of music across all genres and eras, and we’ve placed thousands of songs in projects ranging from The Green Book and Ghost in the Shell to The Meg. Beyond licensing, we offer custom production services, contract negotiation, artist relations, and more—all fully E&O insured through Lloyd’s Bank UK.

2. Can you share a recent project where music or sound design made all the difference?
We recently licensed our A.S. Philharmonic Orchestra rendition of “O Fortuna” (from Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana) for Paramount Pictures’ upcoming trailer, The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants.

3. What’s one SourceAudio feature that’s become essential for your team?
The ability to showcase separate, dedicated SourceAudio specialty catalogs. With such a large and diverse catalog, this feature allows us to better serve distinct licensing and client needs.

4. What’s one project you’re particularly proud of?
Signing local jazz pianist and composer Joel Evans. He already had hundreds of film and TV placements, but we helped adapt his catalog for advertising—re-recording tracks with new lyrics and marketable themes.

That led to big placements like Toyota’s Yaris Cross ad with “Wonderful Day” and KFC’s Holiday From Home campaign during the pandemic with “What Could Be Better”.

5. What’s a moment in pop culture where the music choice really stood out to you?
When we licensed “Look of Love” by ABC for the finale of Netflix’s Point Blank (2019). The way the song carried the suspense and energy of the entire sequence was unforgettable.

6. What’s a song you’ve had on repeat lately?
“Good Vibes” by Chad Future, a new K-Pop/American artist we recently signed.

Big thanks to Dom and the team at CAPP Records for kicking things off!
