January updates and what we’re building next
Updated January 29, 2026
Native Instruments x SourceAudio

This month we announced our partnership with Native Instruments, bringing SourceAudio into one of the most widely used music-creation ecosystems in the world.
The goal is simple: reduce friction between creation and licensing. Make it easier for music to move from idea → catalog → real-world use, without breaking workflows or introducing legal uncertainty.
This partnership is about meeting creators where they already work and giving rights-cleared music a more natural place in modern production environments. More to come on this as it rolls out.
A new way to manage music briefs

If you’ve been emailing briefs, chasing follow-ups, or juggling spreadsheets, this one’s for you.
The Brief Inbox is now live inside your SourceAudio workspace. It gives networks, production teams, and catalogs a shared place to post briefs, pitch music, and review submissions without leaving the platform.
Review and license more efficiently
✅ Clear briefs with context (usage, mood, references, timing)
✅ Faster responses from the catalogs you trust
✅ Everything tracked in one place, end to end
You can access it now directly from your SourceAudio workspace.
How 2026 is taking shape

Throughout 2025, usage of the platform grew in scale and became more embedded in real workflows.
Over the past year, more than 95 million tracks were downloaded, with over 58 million plays and close to 4 million new uploads. The catalog grew to more than 34 million total tracks. This level of activity reflects how often music on SourceAudio is moving into real projects across broadcast, streaming, advertising, and content production.
In 2026, our focus is on:
👉 A full UI refresh that modernizes the platform’s look and feel while making complex workflows clearer and easier to navigate
👉 Building more direct, revenue-generating pipelines for catalogs, including expanded licensing and monetization opportunities
👉 Scaling AI and dataset licensing in a way that creates meaningful, recurring income for rights holders
👉 Making SourceAudio a system catalogs can plug into and actively use to drive business
These priorities reflect how SourceAudio is used every day. As more music moves through the platform and into active projects, the focus shifts to clearer workflows, more intentional monetization, and easier integration into existing catalog operations.
