Use the SourceAudio API to Tap Into Our Metadata Search and Sonic Search Systems
Updated May 6, 2022
In our first API feature, we covered the basics of how our REST API is used to integrate SourceAudio’s track importer and metadata management systems into a third party application.
This same token-based JSON structure can be used to power searches on a third party site for a library hosted on SourceAudio.
Run metadata-powered searches that comb every data tag on a track. You can also run an advanced (field specific or multi-variable compound) search by sending in a search string as “genre:rock”.
Access the latest version of our audio-analysis tool, Sonic-Search v2.0, to search for matching tracks in your library based on a reference track in the form of an audio file, YouTube URL, or Soundcloud URL. Just process your material, plug in the search_id parameter, and Sonic Search returns the most sonically similar tracks to your reference.
The API offers an extensive array of parameters for use in your calls to tailor the search to your exact preference – for instance, if you’d like the results to be sorted by a specific field instead of relevance, or if you only want to see master tracks in your results.
Please note, sufficient programming knowledge is required to use the API.
